Living Life Faithfully: A 40 Day Faith Challenge

Updated: Jan 29

Join me as I embark on a 40-day challenge to strengthen my faith and draw closer to God. In James 4:8 God promises that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. That's an offer I don't want to refuse!

Jesus also tells us in Matthew 17:20, that faith the size as a tiny mustard seed is powerful. So, let's plant those seeds and reap the harvest.

This challenge has 6 parts:

The Seed: A daily scripture reading.

Cleansing Rain: A reflection on the daily verse

Taking Root: 2 questions to help the words take root in your head, heart, and life.

SonShine: An action to take in faith.

Daily Sprinkle: A simple prayer to repeat throughout the day.

The duration of this challenge is 40 days because 40 is a significant number in the Bible. Noah endured the rains for 40 days. The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights in the wilderness. And Jesus spent 40 days with His disciples after His resurrection. Each of these 40-day periods was used to grow closer to God and prepare for the future.

I will make a daily post beginning November 1st.

Originally, I wanted to create this challenge to keep me centered on God as I write my 3rd book during the annual NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge. In this book, my young MC will be struggling with her faith and questioning God's existence. With this heavy theme, I knew I needed God to guide the way. Then I thought, don't we all need this? Thus, this blog series was conceived. I hope it helps your seeds of faith grow as well.

Sincerely,
