Day 11: Living Life Faithfully

Updated: Jan 29

Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20, that faith the size of a tiny mustard seed is powerful. So, let's plant those seeds and reap the harvest.

The Seed: God's Word

Cleansing Rain: A Reflection on God's Word

Take a quick moment and think about your family. What identity does being a member of this group of people give you? Next, think of a close friend. How does her family shape her identity?

In today’s world, we may also find our identity as a member of a winning team or as one of the popular kids. We may be known as the rich kid, the brainiac, the team captain, or the talented singer. We may even have hundreds of followers on social media. We feel these titles or memberships are vital to who we are. Yet, when we lose the big game, go through a financial struggle, fail a test, endure a talent-ending injury, or lose our followers- our self-esteem plummets. Why? Because we are finding our identity in the wrong things!

Our identity is in Jesus Christ- we are believers! This is all that truly matters! We are Children of God. Our father is omnipotent, omniscient, & omnipresent. He will not fail us. His love for us is unsurpassable. All our sins are forgiven. We are a new creation. His ways are infinitely better than our own plans. We have a purpose. And most importantly, we have eternal life with our spiritual family. None of this can ever be taken away from us!

Blood makes us a part of our earthly family, but Jesus’ blood makes us a part of God’s family. Our faith makes us who we are!
