A 40-Day Faith Challenge
Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20, that faith the size of a tiny mustard seed is powerful. So, let's plant those seeds and reap the harvest.
The Seed: God's Word
Cleansing Rain: A Reflection on God's Word
Grace is a gift. We cannot earn it. It is offered to all to be declined, returned, or accepted. God gives this gift, not because of our goodness, but because of His.
Yet so many continue to think along these lines: I’m a pretty good person. I give to charity, try not to gossip, befriend the friendless, etc. God will take me to heaven, right? Not for these reasons, He won’t- and not for a 1,000 more like them. Because even when I screw up just a little bit, I fall short of the perfect goodness of God. God is perfectly holy. I, on the other hand, am a sinner. No amount of good deeds is going to change that. There is only one way I can stand righteous and holy before God- God’s grace!
Jesus, through his perfect life, sacrifice, and resurrection, paid the penalty for my sins. My sins are traded in for righteousness. I am a new creation, holy and blameless in God’s eyes. It is ONLY through God’s grace that I am able to receive salvation.
