Day 26: Living Life Faithfully

Updated: Jan 29

A 40-Day Faith Challenge

Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20, that faith the size of a tiny mustard seed is powerful. So, let's plant those seeds and reap the harvest.

The Seed: God's Word

Cleansing Rain: A Reflection on God's Word

This verse adds insight into what Christian living should look like. We are to be a joyful people, rejoicing always. It sounds like a beautiful, simple life. But giving thanks in difficult circumstances is no picnic.

Rainy day? Thank you, Lord, for providing for the plants and the earth. Disobedient child? Thank you, Lord, for equipping me with the power of forgiveness. Please give me the wisdom to handle the situation. Thank you for your guidance. Unreasonable teacher or boss? Thank you, Lord, for my job and the opportunity to learn. Death of a loved one? Thank you, Lord, for his/her life and the promise of Heaven.

Giving thanks in all circumstances requires trust in God. Time and time again, this is what God asks of us- to have faith in Him in all aspects and circumstances of our lives.

How do we find the strength and obedience to live such a thankful life? We pray without ceasing! God promises to hear the prayer of the righteous (Proverbs 15:29) and the prayer of a righteous person has great power (James 5:16). Thus, let’s pray boldly to live a life of faith.
